What Do We Look For In WolfPack Athletes

Q: What Are The Coaches Looking For?
A: Cheerleading is constantly evolving. With that in mind it is important to be as well rounded an athlete as possible. The coaching staff is looking for athletes that are well rounded and that can present a full package of cheerleading skills. Cheerleaders that can stunt, jump, tumble and dance extremely well have an upper hand. Tops, stretch full is a minimum requirement. Doubling from one legged stunts is an obvious advantage. Tumbling is a huge asset, especially if you are trying out for any of the National level teams. If you can, terrific, but if you can't don't worry you can still make the team.

Q: What Will I Have To Do @ The Tryout?
A: At the tryout you will be put into stunt groups to "show us what you got." Time will also be set aside for you to demonstrate your tumbling, and jump skills. The coaches are well aware of the fact that you are not with "your regular group." Try your best. Effort and determination count.

Q: Do I Need To Make Every Practice?
A:
ABSOLUTELY!  You are all cheerleaders, you know the frustration when one person from your stunt group is missing.

Q: What Should I Wear to Tryouts?
A:
Athletic clothing - shorts, t-shirt and running shoes. Please no lycra, satin shorts. It is too difficult to stunt in.

Q: What Other Expenses Might I Have If I Make A Team?A: Aside from the tuition fee required (depending on the team you make), all WolfPack Athletes are required to purchase the team shorts and a team sweatshirt. Only National Level Athletes will be required to purchase a tracksuit. It is optional for the other teams.
